Year 3 / 4 Gala Day 2008
25 teams from 14 Tuggeranong Schools participated in the event.
The Gala days held by Vikings are a standout and much enjoyed sporting event in the Primary school sporting calendar. The day is run for the enjoyment of the children and to expose Rugby Union to those who normally wouldn't take part in the sport.
The first game of the day started at 9:00 am, with the final played at 1:30 PM. There were two pools of 6 and two pools of 7. Each school played at least 3 games in their respective pools.
There were a number of teams which could of won, with some fantastic performances throughout the day, but in the end the day belonged to St Anthony's. They won the major final fairly convincingly taking the shield off last year's winners Holy Family.
St Francis and Condor fought it out in the runner-up final with St Francis winning by 15 points, in what was a very dominant performance.
In the Trophy Final St Anthony's-2 played Trinity. The first half was a close fought affair with the half time score in just in favour of Trinity 10 - 5. The second half showed a revived Trinity side scoring 20 points to St Anthony's 5. The final score went Trinity's way 30 - 5.
Overall the day was a complete success with all schools enjoying themselves.
