John I Dent Cup Match Results and Reports:
A bye for all Premier and Women's rugby grades on the weekend however the Vikings Division 1 boys were in action at Phillip Oval on Saturday against Yass.
Match Report:
The Vikings Division 1 boys were convincing winners over Yass at Phillip Oval on Saturday 31 - 19. Captain Ross Sands lead from the front with a try and 2 conversions. Callum Green, Tim Sidney, Adam George and Matt Jennings all registered 5 pointers while Matt Marriott contributed a lone conversion. Vikings centre combination of Matt Jennings and Martin Keeffe had outstanding games causing the opposition all sorts of trouble whenever they touched the ball. Jennings was voted Players Player and received 3 points Best and Fairest, Keeffe received 2 points while Tim Sidney was the pick of the forwards received 1 point.
Although a bonus point win was achieved, the Vikings Division 1 team is out of semi final contention for 2007. The 'brown snakes' as they have become known, have shown tremendous team spirit through out the season and will no doubt want to finish on a high this weekend when they play Cooma at Viking Park.

The Tuggeranong Vikings RUFC invites all past senior and junior supporters and players to 'Back to Vikings Day' Saturday 4th August, commencing at 1.30pm

1997 Revisited:
10 years ago the 1997 team beat Royals 30 - 10 for the John I Dent Cup. On Saturday there will be a get together on the Eastern Side of Viking Park commencing at 1.30pm for all players that played first grade in 2007.

Vikings News:

Congratulations to Julian Salvi on his selection in the Australian
World Cup shadow squad. Julian has been playing club rugby for the last
3 weeks and his enthusiasm and game knowledge has been a huge benefit
to 1st Grade and the club in general at training.

Friday 3rd August will allow the local rugby public to view a preview
of the new ARC competition. The Canberra Vikings will play the West
Sydney Rams in a trial game at Viking Park, kick off is 6.00pm. There
will be 6 Tuggeranong Vikings boys involved and we wish them all the
best.

Congratulations to club stalwart Mark Callaway and his wife Bec on the
birth of baby boy number two. Weighing in at 3.72kgs and 50cm in height
Mum and baby are doing will.
