· John McGrath reported membership swipe cards, combining Lic club and Rugby club membership, have been ordered and members must be aware that they need to produce them to receive any benefits from the Lic club.
· Glen Christini has approached all Premier Division Clubs regarding night games. Qbn has responded positively and requested a reciprocal arrangement for their home match.
· Vikings View is again being published, via an advisory email. It will be published monthly until the season commences and then will become weekly. John McGrath is meeting with a pre-graduate journalist to discuss writing of match articles.
· Chris Slack has circulated scholarship grant forms to players and has received a few back for consideration by Finance sub-committee. All applications must be received by nlt 7 April.
· Tetra Faulkner and Eddie McLaughlin have been released to play for other Clubs in Australia.
· Request for sponsorship from Fran Raymond for a Kakoda Trail challenge to raise funds for schools and medical clinics in Port Moresby through the Credit Union Fund Raising scheme. The Club has donated $300.
· Receipt and thank you letter from Leukemia Foundation for our donation of $250.
· Thank you from Ross Sands regarding the Clubs assistance for the Starlight Foundation ride to Melbourne. So far they have raised around $41K.
· Letter from Tour Time, NZ, congratulating the tour party on a well behaved tour and noting players friendliness to their staff.
· A 2009 Season launch has been set down for Monday 11 May.
· Melbourne's Eureka Rugby will NOT be participating in the ACT competition. Melbourne Axemen will still be participating in the pre-season competition who we play in Albury on 18 April.
· John McGrath is our representative on a Sub-Committee looking at the state of rugby in the ACT and Southern NSW region.
· Dean Brown is organising the Back to Viking (Old Boys) Day to be run in conjunction with Memorial Day and Charity Day on 1 August. The Auditorium has been booked and the day will be advertised in the next Club bulletin followed by a flyer. Dean is also looking at Facebook to promote the day.
