ISSUES DISCUSSED AND/OR AGREED UPON

  • The Licensed Club Board of Directors have agreed to the proposal to put player photo sponsor boxes up in all 4 Clubs.

  • The Club is seeking a ground announcer for the 2009 season.

  • Letter is to be sent to Peter Montgomery to inform the family of the steps Vikings will be taking in regard to player Welfare

  • A letter was sent to South Coast Rugby agreeing to the continuation of the Competition sponsorship for 2009.

  • The Committee has agreed to purchase the flash player functionality to upgrade the website to allow video clips.

  • The Rugby Development Officer position was recently advertised with applications due Friday, 6 February. An announcement on the position will be made shortly.

  • ACTRU Presidents Meeting was held on Wednesday, 28 January, where the inclusion of Melbourne and Randwick joining ACT Premier Rugby was discussed. Due to financial constraints, Randwick have withdrawn their inclusion but have earmarked 2010 for inclusion. The inclusion of Melbourne is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.

  • Dean Browne has commenced initial planning for an old boys function to be held in August.

  • Players who have not paid their full registration prior to the first game of the pre season competition will not be eligible for selection.

  • A player handbook will be produced for the Player information night. The date for this event will be provided in the near future.

  • David Assenheim will be writing to members outlining amendments to the membership by-laws that apply for the 2009 season.
